Queens College of Theology is excited to share that Dr. Devin E. West is joining our faculty and will be teaching Biblical Counseling Foundations in the Master’s program.
Dr. West currently serves as the Pastor of Pilgrim Baptist Church in Hamilton, Ohio. A native of Franklin, Kentucky, he accepted his call to ministry in 2004 and has spent the years since committed to theological education, spiritual leadership, and meaningful work in the community.
Dr. West earned a Bachelor of Arts in Pastoral Counseling from American Baptist College in Nashville and a Master of Divinity from United Theological Seminary in Dayton. In October 2025, he successfully defended his dissertation and completed his PhD in Leadership and Change at Antioch University, with a concentration in Interdisciplinary Studies.
Alongside his pastoral ministry, Dr. West is active in several community initiatives, working with city leaders, public officials, and pastors locally and globally. He has also served in leadership roles including Dean of Christian Education and Associate Dean, and he is a duly consecrated Bishop in the FOCCUS (Fellowship of Churches United in Service) International His ministry and scholarship are fueled by a passion to help the church grow in health and unity.
As the instructor for Biblical Counseling Foundations, Dr. West will bring a thoughtful approach to helping students build a strong foundation for counseling that is grounded in Scripture and shaped by real ministry experience.
