Queens College of Theology (QCT) has announced the launch of a national search for a Volunteer Director of Calling Development, a key leadership position that will help guide one of the institution's most distinctive educational initiatives.
The Director of Calling Development will oversee QCT's custom concentration program, which allows students to create individualized academic specializations based on their unique ministry goals, vocational aspirations, and calling from God.
While many colleges require students to select from a predetermined list of concentrations, Queens College of Theology has adopted a different approach...one that places the student's calling at the center of the educational experience.
The Director of Calling Development will work directly with students to identify their educational needs, develop customized concentration plans, and help ensure they gain the knowledge and competencies necessary to become leaders in their chosen fields. The position will also recruit, train, and oversee a team of volunteer Concentration Mentors who provide specialized guidance and assessment throughout the student's academic journey.
The college hopes to attract candidates who have experience in leadership, curriculum design, mentoring, theological education, or ministry development. An earned doctoral degree is preferred, and the position requires a minimum commitment of approximately ten hours per week.
Queens College of Theology operates through a volunteer-driven model, allowing leaders from across the country and around the world to contribute their gifts and expertise while helping make Christian higher education more accessible.
"Some people are called to preach. Others are called to mentor, teach, encourage, and develop leaders," said Chancellor Dr. Randy Leftwich. "The Director of Calling Development is a role for someone who finds joy in helping others discover God's purpose and preparing them to fulfill it."
In addition to the opportunity to make a lasting impact on future ministry leaders, volunteers who enroll as students at Queens College of Theology receive free tuition, with standard fees remaining applicable.
